Text from this PhotoShow:

Churches in Orissa, India are under attack by Hindu extremists. The extremists have been on a rampage since their leader was murdered August 22. This church was vandalized, set on fire and the cross atop its roof was bent over.
The cross was also removed from the top of this church when it was vandalized. Believers cannot meet in the building anymore. GFA World missionaries pastor dozens of churches just like this in Orissa.
The Hindu militants also set fires in many churches, burning Bibles, musical instruments and furniture. In this case the fire damage was limited to a small area of the church. Some were completely destroyed.
A few walls and the cross painted on the wall are all that's left of this church.
Churches weren't the only thing destroyed during the rampage. Any buildings belonging to Christians were targeted. Orphanages, prayer centers, businesses and homes were all destroyed.
In some places, entire villages were targeted for destruction.
Christians were left with only piles of rubble where their homes or businesses once stood.
The Hindu fundamentalists responsible for the attacks destroyed more than buildings. They are trying to destroy Christian's lives.
In spite of the intense attacks, the majority of Christians are refusing to turn their backs on Jesus.
It is hard to imagine what the future will be for Christians in Orissa. But today they truly understand the Psalmist, who wrote these words: "Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch out Your hand against the wrath of my enemies and Your right hand will save me." (Psalm 138:7)
Continue to pray for these persecuted believers. Ask the Lord to strengthen them and give them a vision for the future.
