Many of the injured tsunami survivors cannot afford medical attention because they lost all of their resources to the waves.
To meet this desperate need, GFA Compassion Service Teams and volunteers have organized mobile medical clinics in India and Sri Lanka.
The team's first stop is a hospital to pick up doctors and nurses who are volunteering their time each afternoon. Then they drive to a coastal village.
A team of nurses arrives at a Catholic school to hold a clinic in India's hard-hit Tamil Nadu state.
Taking their first step to treatment, patients meet with nurses who gather their basic medical information.
After suffering for several months, these survivors are at last going to receive treatment for their tsunami-related injuries and illnesses.
A volunteer doctor listens to this small boy's heart and lungs. Stethoscopes are just as cold there as they are in your doctor's office.
This boy seems to have an ear infection and several open sores from wounds he received when the tsunami swept through. Many patients have injuries that have become infected from lack of treatment.
The young boy's mother gets his prescription filled. Gospel for Asia is providing all the medical supplies.
Next, a nurse cleans and treats the open sores on the young tsunami survivor's head and ear.
Treatment complete! GFA Compassion Services is able to help thousands of tsunami victims like this little boy because friends like you continue to express compassion and love through your gifts and prayers.
This new fellowship is one of several that have begun because GFA relief workers also share Jesus with those who have lost all hope for the future.
