This Gospel for Asia medical team is traveling to a remote village in a Tamil Tiger-controlled area of Sri Lanka. It is difficult for this village to get proper medical treatment due to the political turmoil.
The medical team's purpose is to tangibly share the love of Christ through free medical treatment.
Dr. Isaiah is a strong Christian doctor who is volunteering his time to treat the sick.
One of the special things about Dr. Isaiah is that he takes time to talk with each patient, getting a good understanding of the treatment they need.
This elderly man came to the medical clinic with pain and swelling in his joints.
The doctor checked his range of motion and felt for any abnormalities.
After his examination he received the prescribed medication, ordered by Dr. Isaiah to help with the pain and swelling.
Primitive circumstances often prevent proper treatment. This GFA nurse is bandaging a deep cut on a little girl's ankle. She should have had stitches weeks ago.
Throughout the day, small groups of people trickle in seeking Dr. Isaiah's medical attention. He treated 150 people in one day.
The village leader was very thankful for the medical team and expressed hopes that they return soon.
Their work finished, the medical team loads up the van, glad for the opportunity they had to share Christ's compassion with the village.
Pastor Shantha has a church in this area and hopes that the medical clinic will open hearts to receive the Gospel. Please pray for these villagers to respond to Christ's love and receive His salvation.
