09/24/2008: Praying for 101 Days
Praying for 101 Days
Prayer is the best protection many Christians have right now. |
The persecution facing Christians in India right now is unprecedented. And the response the Church has chosen is to battle spiritually.
"When we depend on men, we get what men can do. When we depend on prayer, we get what God can do," GFA leader M.A. Lalachan wrote.
Joining many people in the West who are praying for the persecuted church in Asia, Gospel for Asia's missionaries, staff and Bible college students are organizing 101 days of continuous prayer.
Through chain prayer and fasting, the goal is to have at least 30 to 100 people praying at all times during the last 101 days in 2008. Also joining the GFA workers will be all the Christians who are part of churches where GFA missionaries serve as pastor.
"As we read in Isaiah 64:4, 'Since ancient times, no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides You who acts on behalf of those who wait for him,'" Lalachan wrote.
Lalachan shared the following requests for those who wish to join their Indian brothers and sisters in prayer.
- PRAY that the believers will remain strong in their faith and be more than conquerors against the evil forces that are persecuting them. Pray that God will be their constant companion in these hours of need.
- PRAY that God will move in His merciful power to protect believers in Asia.
- PRAY that all those who are persecuting Christians will turn to the One who can save their souls.
- PRAY that the Lord will heal the broken-hearted quickly and completely.
