GFA missionary Nirmal serves in the southwest Indian state of Goa in India. The foundation of his ministry is his love for the Lord, evidenced in the time he spends in prayer and studying the Word.
Fishing is a major trade along the coast of Goa. It was Nirmal's occupation before the Lord called him to be a missionary.
Nirmal is pointing to the place where he got caught in a whirlpool and almost lost his life. It is at this point that the river meets the ocean. When the tide comes in, whirlpools form. He gave his life to the Lord after this brush with death. He gives God full credit for saving his life.
Nirmal's days are full of evangelism and discipleship. He pastors a church that is growing daily as more villagers come to know Jesus.
Nirmal takes teams of believers with him for tract distribution. In this way he both disciples believers and reaches out to the unsaved.
Nirmal's desire is to instill in every church member a passion to reach the lost.
Some villagers are not interested in the Gospel. This man shut the door as soon as he found out Nirmal's team was there to share the Gospel. Undaunted, Nirmal continues to faithfully share the Gospel with his community.
The discouragement of closed doors is short-lived. Slowly, other villagers are becoming more receptive to the Gospel.
Nirmal's church meets in a believer's home, but they are growing so rapidly they don't fit in one room anymore. The are praying for God to provide a church building for them.
God is working in amazing ways among this Goan community. After the Sunday service Nirmal spends time praying for those who have needs. Many are healed and are giving their lives to Christ.
