Amidst breathtaking scenery in this hilly part of Asia is a jail filled with hurting people.
A Gospel for Asia-supported ministry team wanted to help them. So the team, consisting of missionaries, staff, Bible college students and a Women's Fellowship group, began visiting them and sharing the love of Jesus.
Hours went into putting together music, drama and cultural dance for the prisoners and guards . . .
. . . and prayer, too! Team members were not the only ones who prayed. Churches led by GFA-supported missionaries throughout the region are interceding regularly for the prison ministry.
The program began in prayer, too. Some of the team members sang a song, and the women performed a cultural dance.
The team had also prepared some fun games for the prisoners.
As the prisoners and guards participated in the various activities together, it was like they were friends.
GFA-supported missionary Amir delivered a hope-filled message about the value of life, both in this world and the world to come.
The Bible college students performed a drama they had prepared, offering both humor and a sobering message.
Tears rolled down the faces of some of the guards and prisoners as they watched the portrayal of sin and its consequences.
Team members were able to personally meet with and listen to the heartfelt stories of some of the prisoners, some of whom had tried to take their own lives. The team left Gospel literature and New Testaments with the prisoners and guards.
On behalf of the team and as a gesture of appreciation and love, Amir presented the jail superintendent with a ceiling fan for the inmates. This was something they knew the jail especially needed.
The jail superintendent expressed his appreciation to the team for organizing a program that was so good for the people in his jail and invited them to come back often. After the program, he immediately called a colleague and recommended that she invite the team to do programs in her jail, too.
Please join the team in fervent prayer for the Lord to touch these precious people they are ministering to in Christ's name.
