Namisha Sood lost everything her society valued—her home, her family and her status-when she chose to follow Jesus Christ. But He was worth far more than the earthly price she paid. Here is Namisha's story, in her own words.
"When I came to this [GFA-related] church, my relatives had excommunicated me. Even now, they won't come see me because I am a Christian. My son told me, 'If you want me to take care of you, you have to leave Jesus Christ.
"In my church, I am getting fellowship. I found love and unity here. From the Bible, I have learned so many things, especially that there is no high and low caste . . . now I visit low-caste people and share my testimony, because I want them to come to the Lord."
"Although I am deserted by my relatives for the sake of Christ, God is taking care of me . . . I don't bother about my problems. I want to win other women to Christ."
"I can't go here and there [like a missionary], but at least I can be involved in women's ministry. I can encourage other ladies to pray for ministry and pray for the lost world, and for our pastor."
"I have not met another woman who lost her whole family for the sake of Christ. But when a lady has problems in her family, I tell my testimony and she is encouraged."
"When I was tempted to turn back, I had a Bible. I read that and I did not allow the temptation to drag me away from the Lord."
"Many of the women in my church are illiterate. So I am helping them to read the Bible, and encouraging them to read its stories and promises."
"God has led me, before my family, to His saving grace. And I am praying that one day the Lord will help us to reunite, and He will bring them to His saving grace."
"Please pray for me, that through all these things I may know the Lord more. Pray that God will help me to stand firm in faith in the days to come, and pray that my relatives will get saved. God is faithful!"
