Text from this PhotoShow:
Rajasthan, India, has a desert-like terrain, which seems to reflect the hard and dry spiritual condition. But through the work of a Gospel for Asia native missionary, God is bringing rivers of living water to this spiritually thirsty place.
The ministry of missionary Hirla, and his wife Gitanjali, springs out of the work the Lord began in their own lives when He delivered Gitanjali from demon possession.
Every Sunday, up to 70 believers gather together in Hirla's one-room house to worship the Lord.
Worship services last nearly four hours. The believers spend much time singing praises to the Lord, hearing from God's Word, praying and regularly partaking in Communion.
Communion is taken very seriously. Though many are new believers, they understand the price Jesus paid for their salvation.
Satan's grasp on their lives was strong, but these new believers are totally devoted to Jesus. Their love for Him is evident as they worship and pray.
Toward the end of the service, believers bring their tithes and offerings. This part of the service is between each individual and the Lord, and they usually hide the amount they give.
Hirla spends a large percentage of his time in intercessory prayer. He even takes time to pray for the needs of the believers during the service.
At the end of the service, the believers greet their pastor with "Jai Yesu," which means "victory to Jesus" in their language.
