Text from this PhotoShow: Gospel for Asia missionary Jadesh Kour and his wife, Bavya, have a very large family. There are 28 children living in their home! Jadesh, shown here with some of the children, has opened his home to 25 orphans. Three of his own four children also still live at home in Chhattisgarh, India. Bavya rises before dawn each morning and works late into the night doing all that is necessary to run her very large household. "It feels good to serve these children," she says. Jadesh and Bavya raise the children to love the Lord Jesus. Jadesh and his daughter, Teja, teach the children Bible stories and songs each day. They also spend time praying together. Even though the children do not have many material things, they are happy knowing that God has provided someone to love and care for them. The children love and care for one another as well. The older children help Bavya care for the younger children. The boys and girls also work hard to make sure the household runs smoothly. In addition to their schoolwork, they help with everyday chores, such as cooking. As with any family, there are times that are just for fun. Here the children are playing a game. Jadesh and Bavya are watching from the middle of the moving circle of children. These children love each other deeply and have formed a strong family bond while living in the Kours' house. Now they feel like they are at home. date posted 01/17/08 |
