Text from this PhotoShow:
Life in this small village in Chhattisgarh, India, is quite simple. Most people to whom Gospel for Asia missionary Jadesh Kour ministers earn their living through agriculture.
Many of the parents have difficulties sending their children to school. So, when a GFA Bridge of Hope center opened, the families were eager to enroll their children.
Today, 148 children from this village are in school thanks to Bridge of Hope. And after school, they have a place to learn and grow academically and spiritually.
The children come to the Bridge of Hope Center each afternoon. They receive tutoring designed to enhance their academic skills. They also learn Bible stories and songs.
Their parents report dramatic differences in their children's academic abilities. They are also seeing changes in their children's character, behavior and manners.
The children receive a nutritious meal each day at the center. There is often not enough food in their homes, so having a hot meal each day is a blessing.
The boys and girls learn the value of service as they take care of their center. They learn to wash their plates and cups after each meal.
Mani Sahu, the director of the Bridge of Hope Center, says BOH staff members focus on expressing the love of Jesus to the children.
The staff is committed to reaching out to the children's families, too. They frequently visit student's homes to update parents on their children's progress. The parents often ask for prayer.
The Bridge of Hope Center is changing this village. As a result of this ministry to children, several families have chosen to follow Christ.
The children in this center are leading the way as Jadesh shares the Gospel in Chhattisgarh.
