Text from this PhotoShow:
"When I came to this village for the first time, I really felt very sympathetic toward the people. Their standard of living is unbelievably low. And when I talked with the people, they said that they are sending their children to other cities to beg so they can have enough money to eat."
"They also shared that last year, 18 children died due to starvation. They are so devastated, seeing the children dying in front of their eyes."
"It touched my heart, and I feel urgency that we should do something for them. If we dug a Jesus Well, it would help them so much. Water is an urgent need for them. Now they walk to a lake to fetch drinking water. But that water will dry up soon, and the remnants left over will stink."
"I feel a heavy burden to pray for them, and as we are able, we will build a Jesus Well. Water is one big way we can help them."
"The spiritual condition of the people is very sad as well. They do not even know who Jesus is. Of course, we have a missionary in this area."
"Native missionary Harish visits the people very often to encourage them and share the Gospel. Harish told me, 'I thought about giving tracts to them as part of my evangelical ministry, but it's no use because they are illiterate. They cannot read the Gospel tracts.' "
"We need to do something tangible, like build a Jesus Well; something that will help their physical needs. When we help them in ways like this, they see the love of Christ through our actions."
"More than 300 people live in this village, and they do not know about Jesus. Many people have already died, and we don't want to miss this chance to reach them. We must find more ways to share the hope of the Gospel."
"Uttar Pradesh has many villages like this one. This is one of the worst, but there are many others in terrible situations. And they all desperately need the Gospel." "Uttar Pradesh has many villages like this one. This is one of the worst, but there are many others in terrible situations. And they all desperately need the Gospel."
"When I saw this village for the first time, I was really shocked. Harish had told me about these people. He said, 'We have to do something for this people.' But until I came and saw it with my own eyes, I could not understand the magnitude of what he was telling me."
This is just one of thousands of villages in India that has physical needs. When these needs are met, people open their hearts wide to the Gospel.
