Answers from the Forbidden Book

Syed's heart raced as he held the forbidden book. He slowly turned the pages. He even read a few sentences. Then he slammed it shut. Of all the sins he had ever committed, this was the worst. His mind echoed the warnings of his Muslim teachers: "Never touch the book of the Christians!"

But why was he so drawn to the Bible? Why did Jesus have a miraculous birth, and by what authority did He perform miracles? Syed longed to know. That's when he decided to fight his fears and study the Book. And there he found the answers.

When he reached Psalm 51, his heart broke. Kneeling down and confessing his sins, Syed received Jesus as his Lord and Savior. "That very moment," he remembers, "the fear of hell disappeared. For the first time in my life, I was filled with real peace and joy."

Today Syed is a national missionary working among Muslims in northeast India—all because he had a Bible.

Syed was fortunate. Ninety-nine percent of people in Asia have no access to God's Word.

"We have never before encountered such a crisis and challenge to find enough Bibles and New Testaments to give to millions of people who are waiting for them—not tomorrow, but right now," says K.P. Yohannan, founder and president of Gospel for Asia. "It is our dream that in our lifetime, every family in India and the rest of the 10/40 Window will receive a copy of God's Word. And as they do, God will change this generation."

We pray you will share this dream with us.

Gospel for Asia Bible Society prints more than 300,000 Scriptures in national languages each month. A soon-to-be-added second web press will enable us to double production. But the need continues to grow. Millions are waiting for their first glimpse into the Word of God. And you can have the joy of sending it to them. Every dollar you give to Gospel for Asia Bible Society will print one Bible or four New Testaments.

The time is now. The harvest is ripe.
