Five Followed Him Because of Her

Who was this Jesus? Every day, Dhara Abhik turned on the radio in her house in Nepal to learn more about this intriguing man. His story captivated her, and she felt deep joy and peace learning about a God who loved and cared for her!
As time went on, Dhara placed her trust in Jesus, even though she had heard about Him only through GFA Radio. But she was thirsty to be discipled.
Putting her pen to paper, Dhara wrote a letter to the GFA Radio office, asking for materials that would help her better understand Jesus Christ. In return, she received some Christian materials and also the contact information of the nearest Gospel for Asia missionary.
Excited to meet one of Jesus' followers, Dhara called the missionary, Adesh Tapan. She invited Adesh and his wife, Tintu, to come and share the Gospel message with her village.
After reserving the local community hall, Dhara invited all her neighbors to come hear the Good News. Then she waited for the big day.
When Adesh and Tintu arrived, it was the first time that Dhara had ever met a Christian. She was excited that they would be able to share more about their faith with her and her family.

That night, Adesh showed a film about the life of Jesus. Then he preached the Gospel message, and many hearts were touched. One of those hearts was Dhara's. She decided to give her life to Jesus, and placed her complete trust in Him.
Since that day, Dhara has been walking three hours to the nearest church every Sunday. And she is following the call that God has given to every Christian—to share the Gospel with others.
Because of Dhara's simple witness, five more people have chosen to follow Jesus in her village. Now they meet to encourage one another through prayer and Bible study.
Dhara asks for prayer that more will come to know Christ and that the Bible fellowship group will grow into a full-fledged church. She also requests prayer that GFA Radio will be able share the Gospel with more people like her by expanding its broadcasts to reach other parts of Nepal.
