Humble Women, Incredible Faith

Like these ladies, Radha and the GFA Women's Ministry group fervently prayed for hours for Gurpreet and that he would be healed.

Radha Gurcharan knew the Lord could heal her father, Gurpreet. It didn't matter that his rare skin disease had not responded to medical treatment or that it was spreading quickly. She was ready to step out in faith and trust God for what seemed to be impossible.

Part of her strength came because Radha was comforted by the love and support shown by her Gospel for Asia Women's Fellowship group. The ladies even fervently prayed for 24 hours with Radha that Gurpreet would be healed.

A few weeks before, Gurpreet had been working in his yard when an insect bit his hand. At first, Gurpreet didn't think much about the mild stinging sensation—but a little later, the bite mark began to swell.

Gurpreet applied some medicated cream to the bite and assumed it would go away, but he couldn't have been more wrong. As the days passed, the skin on his hand began to rot away.

Doctors informed Gurpreet that the insect was infected and he had contracted a rare skin disease. Although they gave him treatment, his condition worsened. Soon, the wound was so deep that the bones in Gurpreet's hand were exposed, and he was in excruciating pain.

Because the infection was so intense, Gurpreet thought he would probably die. As a Christian, he cried out to the Lord for help—but he lost all hope when there were no positive results.

Radha and her Women's Fellowship group also came together and prayed—all day and all night. The women were confident that the Lord would completely heal him of this disease, so they fervently lifted Gurpreet up to Him. After the extended prayer time, Radha had a peace that God had answered their cries.

The next day, Radha went to check on her father. Gurpreet's skin had completely healed during the night.

"When I woke up, my skin disease was gone," Gurpreet told Radha. "And I'm also no longer in pain!"

As Gurpreet realized his disease was gone, his hope in the Lord was restored.

The family praised Jesus for demonstrating His great power by healing Gurpreet. Today, Gurpreet is whole and is excited that he is able to again attend church.

Gurpreet requests prayer that his testimony of the Lord's tremendous faithfulness would impact many other people in his village.
