She Yearned To Know Her Gods

Mohini yearned to know the gods of her religion. She lived very comfortably in Uttar Pradesh, India, with her bus-driver husband and their three sons. A good wife of her faith tradition, she attended many religious meetings from the early days of her marriage. Through such encounters, she sought peace and more knowledge of her gods.
Things tended to go smoothly in Mohini's household, which she attributed to her life of strong devotion to their deities. But it wouldn't last for long.
One day she heard the shocking news her husband had managed to keep secret from her: He was addicted to alcohol! The news left Mohini reeling in shock, and she lost her balance and fell down, severely injuring herself. Her injury was so severe it caused her left side to be paralyzed, and she was bedridden for a long time.
Feeling that the gods she so implicitly trusted had let her down, Mohini stopped worshipping them altogether.Instead of comforting or helping the family, Mohini's relatives and neighbors only made matters worse by laughing at their misery and telling her the family was doomed. This only added to Mohini's intense mental and emotional pain.
Things got even worse. Mohini and her husband fought nearly every day, and there was no peace at home. Mohini's household was a mess, her children were neglected and she felt completely discouraged and helpless.
It made Mohini sad that this had happened when she was such a faithful devotee to her deities. Feeling that the gods she so implicitly trusted had let her down, Mohini stopped worshipping them altogether.
Then Jesus revealed Himself to her in a dream, saying, "Don't worry, my daughter; if you believe in me, you will be healed." When she awoke, she prayed to commit her life to the Lord, saying, "Jesus, I believe you; please heal me." As soon as she uttered this prayer, Mohini was completely healed of her paralysis.
The following Sunday, Mohini was walking to a shop. On her way, she heard the sound of singing. Curious to know where the singing was coming from, she followed the sound. There she saw people gathered for church.
She sat down to listen as Ajay Chauhan, a Gospel for Asia missionary, shared a message with his congregation from God's Word. After the service, she went forward and told him everything that had happened to her. The missionary shared the Good News of Jesus with Mohini and prayed for her. Although she had already received Jesus into her heart in faith, it was only then that Mohini fully understood who Jesus was and His work on the Cross.
As Ajay prayed for her, Mohini was greatly comforted. She continued attending his church and came to know more and more about Jesus. As her faith increased day by day, her life was completely transformed.
She began praying faithfully for a change in her husband's life. Two months went by. Then one night, God spoke to Mohini in a dream again, this time about her husband. In the dream, Mohini's husband stopped drinking. Sure enough, the very next day Mohini's husband came and told her he would not drink anymore. The Lord delivered him from his destructive habit. And later he received Christ!
Now this family is an amazing testimony to the people around them. Many have marveled at the change in their lives. The same devotion Mohini once had for her gods, she now shows to Jesus—the God she can know! Mohini actively participates in the church and has dedicated herself to sharing the Gospel with the unreached. Through her testimony, 10 new families have trusted in Jesus and have been added to the church.
Pray that God will continue to use Mohini's family as a witness in Uttar Pradesh. Lift up Pastor Ajay in his ministry as well.
