I was born June 15, 1974, into a nominal Christian family in India. I have a father, mother, two sisters and one brother. My parents raised me up in a very religious home. We attended church every week and led a moral lifestyle. I also went to Sunday school and was familiar with all the Bible stories. But this was only out of tradition, and we had no personal relationship with Jesus.

When I was in the twelfth grade I made friendships with the wrong kind of people. This led me away from the church and into the world. Before long I found myself doing many things that were harmful to my health. I used to go out with my friends to do whatever we thought would make us happy. But in reality I was a very miserable person, and there was no peace in my mind. I knew that if I continued to follow this path it would eventually ruin my life. In my heart I was very afraid of death.

One day, as my friends and I were walking, we passed by an orchard. Since we were hungry we decided to take some of the fruit to eat. I was chosen to climb the tree. As I began to pluck some of the fruit, my foot slipped, and I fell from the tree. By falling down I fractured my leg and had to be taken to the doctor. The doctor performed a small operation and my leg began to heal.

As I lay in bed, recovering from my leg injury, I began to look back on my life. I remembered the many things that my teachers had told me about Jesus. I knew it was Jesus who saved my life the day I fell from the tree. The Lord then began to speak to me in a very special way, and one day I prayed to receive Jesus into my heart as my personal Lord and Savior. After that my life changed completely. I left my old friends and began to live a life pleasing to God. I was no longer afraid of death because I knew that if I died I would go to heaven. Later on I made a public testimony of my faith.

Time went by, and I continued to grow in my relationship with the Lord. I began to sense in my heart that the Lord was calling me to serve Him full time on the mission field. But I knew that I had to first get some training. After much prayer I enrolled myself in a Bible School to study God's Word and prepare myself for the ministry ahead.
