Azad's Testimony

I was born April 13, 1984, into a non-Christian family in India. I did not care about leading a good life, either spiritually or morally. Along with my friends, I indulged myself in various sinful practices. I was involved in all the havoc that took place in and around my village. I was giving much trouble to my family. Sadly, no one ever told me that all these things that I was doing were displeasing to God, and I myself did not realize the need to change.

One fine day, a Gospel team from a nearby village visited my village and distributed tracts and booklets, telling about the story of Jesus Christ. I too received a tract. Curious to know what it tells, I began carefully reading it.

The Gospel tract began talking to my personal life. The love of Jesus gripped my heart. I did not know what was happening inside me. Tears streamed down my cheeks, as I realized that I was a sinner. Right there, I knelt down at the feet of Christ and repented of my sins.

By God's grace I gave up all my ungodly ways and began experiencing a new life in Christ. I began attending the local church services which helped to know more about the one and only living God. Though my friends and relatives teased me for following Jesus, I was happy within because I had found the Savior. Although my friends did not listen, I found time to share the Gospel with them. Soon, my brother received Jesus. Praise God!

Growing in the Lord, one day I had the privilege to hear my pastor speaking about the need of serving Jesus. But I did not know how I could be a part of it. Tarrying in the Lord's presence in prayer, I was assured of my calling to take the Gospel to the lost. With the help of the pastor I joined a Gospel For Asia Bible school to prepare myself to serve God. Meanwhile I made a public profession of my faith in the living God.

Present Ministry

With only one aim that is to reach the lost with the Gospel of Jesus, I serve Him as an evangelist in India. House visitation, Gospel literature distribution, home-prayer fellowships, village evangelism and church-planting work are the different means through which I proclaim the life-giving Gospel. The majority of the people in my working area are non-Christians.

Please pray for me that I may fulfill God's plan to expand His kingdom.
