I was born October 18, 1972, into a nominal Christian family in India. Born as the youngest in the family, I enjoyed the privilege of being pampered and cared by all. I was sent to Sunday school and attended worship services regularly. But in our lives there was no intimacy or loyalty to the Lord Jesus, whom we claimed to worship.

Once I met an evangelical team which came into our town to spread the Gospel. Somehow, I became closer to them and thus got chances to move around with them, assisting them in their work. To my amazement, I realized that my mind was at ease and I enjoyed a special peace whenever I was with them. Moreover, deep inside my heart there sprouted a keen desire to know Jesus.

But this did not last long. As soon as the team left my place, I again fell back into my shameful condition. Things grew even worse. Meanwhile, I got a job in a company as an electrician. As I began to get a steady income, I became an alcoholic and was addicted to several other intoxicants. I was often sorrowful and lonely and found no meaning in my life.

Once while helping my assistant fix an electrical equipment, my hand got struck in the machinery and was wounded badly. The wound was so severe that the doctors thought to amputate my hand. That day, I cried unto Jesus to heal me. I remembered all those miraculous incidents that I had seen while I was with the evangelical team. I numbered them one by one and asked the Lord to perform once again a miracle for me. The Lord heard my cry and healed me. This broke me completely. I realized my unworthiness as well as the unending love of Jesus for me. That day I surrendered my will and wishes to the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

My transition led me to a local believers' church, where I made a public profession of my faith. Strong scriptural teachings and constant association with godly people enabled me to overcome my sinful temperament. As I became a part of the outreach team of our church, the Lord showed me the need of committed workers in His vineyard.

Thus I began to wait upon the Lord for this matter. Eventually, the Lord confirmed His call on my life and opened a way for me to join a Gospel For Asia Bible school to equip myself for the task ahead.
