Tula's Testimony
I was born June 25, 1986, into an orthodox family in Nepal. There are eight members in our family. I have two brothers and three sisters. I am the youngest in my family. In accordance with our religious traditions, we used to worship many gods and goddesses. I followed the example my parents set for me, and I was very devout.
After the tenth grade, my friend told me that he was going to India to find a job. He invited me to go with him. I thought it would be a good time for me to go, so I readily agreed. Thus, we went to the northernmost state of India for a month. After that, we went to the border of China. At this time, I got my exam results and came to know that I had failed. I became depressed. Though I tried very hard to be happy, I could not come out of my depression.
During that time, my friend said that he received a letter from Nepal. There was to be a one-week Christian training, so he invited me to go with him. He was a Christian and often shared the Gospel with me, which I liked very much. Thus, I agreed and went to the program with him. I heard many things there. I learned that Jesus is the living God, and though He was killed, he was also resurrected on the third day.
I asked many questions at that time, and the people answered me very nicely. I was satisfied with the answers I received. Thus, as God spoke to me, I received Jesus as my Master and Savior. I felt peace in my heart as I returned home from that meeting. A few months later, I made a public profession of my faith. However, there was no church in our village.
After some days, a man came from a city after a two-year course in biblical studies. He had come back for his internship year. As he preached the Good News, people flocked to hear him. Many were saved through his ministry, and a church was established there. God spoke to me through the messages I heard in that church. I began praying for an opportunity to do the ministry. Thus, God opened a way for me to enroll in a GFA Bible school.
Present Ministry
I am working as an evangelist in non-Christian dominated Nepal. I strive for Jesus by distributing tracts, visiting houses and conducting prayer meetings in homes. I also do church-planting work.
Please pray for me that I may fulfill God's plan to expand His kingdom. Pray also that I will have sufficient grace to do the ministry, and that I will be able to complete my studies here.
