On these forgotten islands of Asia, life is very secluded. People here lack basic luxuries such as running water and toothbrushes. Even though they're surrounded by water, the only places they can bathe and collect water to drink is often from stagnant ponds. To them, life may seem hopeless.
When GFA-supported ministry began and grew in this area, God had called 18 national missionaries to minister to these islands. Travelling by boat, these brothers brought hope for living to a forgotten people. Though social barriers usually exist between the islanders and outsiders, people on the islands started to befriend the missionaries and welcomed their prayers for healing and encouragement.
Since the ministry began, GFA-supported missionaries have been able to bring help to at least 44 of these hidden islands. Several Jesus Wells have also been constructed to provide families there with clean, running water.
God has visited these "forgotten" people, and many families have personally encountered the Living God. A number of Christian fellowships began as believers met to worship God together. And even today, more people are learning what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
With many people on these islands still hidden away from the rest of the world, there is still a lot of work to be done. Yet, we look forward to what God will do! And you can be a part of ministering help and hope to many in need, too. Partner with a national missionary like the ones who came to these islands, and watch how God moves mightily—both in Asia and in your own life.
