In the scenic and rugged terrain of beautiful Nepal, travel for ministry can be challenging. When GFA World missionaries made the decision to hold a youth meeting, a considerable stretch of dusty roads awaited them. Once they could no longer go by vehicle, they walked several hours to reach their destination.
Youth meetings are generally held at a local church and can often be a tremendous encouragement and blessing to the local pastor serving there.
Seventy youth from six remote Nepali villages were able to participate. Like the team that ministered to them, they traveled considerable distances. Some even walked for two days to be there.
The theme for the event was "Rise! Jesus is calling you," based on Mark 10:49. Session topics included salvation and missions, as well as topics especially relating to the youth, such as purity.
The youth showed thirst for Jesus as they listened attentively and followed along in their Bibles
With joyous hearts, this ministry team led the group in worship, singing out in praise to God.
The youth meeting provided the opportunity for these young people to make important spiritual choices at a pivotal point in their lives. Tears ran down many of their faces as they made deliberate decisions to surrender to Christ's lordship in their lives. It was a time that will forever impact many of them.
