The December 26, 2004, tsunami marked the darkest hour of thousands of people's lives.
Local GFA workers labored relentlessly to bring physical relief and offer hope through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Some groups questioned the appropriateness of sharing the Gospel while the survivors were hurting so badly.
But there is nothing better than Jesus' love to truly comfort the lost and hurting.,Now we are seeing the fruit of new life for many who have trusted Him.
Prior to the tsunami, Pastor Moses pastored a church with 100 believers.
As a direct result of the GFA Compassion Services relief teams ministering alongside Pastor Moses, his church grew to 250 people.
Sunitha is one who received Christ through a GFA relief team, and is one of 70 others Pastor Moses recently baptized.
In the very waters that brought so much death and destruction, the new believers declared their newfound faith and life in Jesus.
Through the past year of relief work, we have seen a new beginning for many—80 churches have been planted among the survivors.
But there is still far to go. As the one year anniversary of the tsunami approaches, GFA is committed to remain with the tsunami survivors as long as it takes.
