Text from this PhotoShow:
Most of this region of Rajasthan, India, is very arid. It only rains here during the months of June and July. Very few trees grow and the hills are covered in dry grasses.
Goats and cows can graze for a few months after the rains, and the villagers cut grass as hay for feed to carry their animals through the hot, dry months.
Life is very hard and wears on the people. The women work in the fields, carry water, cook and look after their children. They seem older than their years.
Up until now, GFA World native missionary P. Kumar has had a difficult time reaching the people on this mission field with the Gospel. They were hostile and accused him of bringing a foreign religion to their village.
The real breakthrough for Kumar was the drilling of a Jesus Well a few months ago.
In a short time, the new Jesus Well opened the hearts of the villagers. Today, Pastor Kumar is able to develop relationships with people who used to violently oppose him.
The Sunday worship service is currently being held in this house, the home of the first family to come to Christ in this village.
On a normal Sunday, more than 80 people worship here, representing 18 families.
Every Jesus Well has a plaque next to it with the words of Christ from John 4:14, promising that those who come to Him "will never thirst."
