I’d like you to meet Gianna, a young woman whose life is a testament to the transformative power of the message of Christ's love. Born into tragedy in a remote village, Gianna’s world was shattered when, at just 8 years old, her mother was murdered. Terrified and alone, she was taken in by Christian relatives who introduced her to the love of a heavenly Father. This seed of faith grew, and Gianna committed her life to Christ, filled with a burning desire to study God’s Word. She prayed for direction, and God answered in a miraculous way—a national missionary, dressed in white just as in a dream she’d had, arrived at her door and asked, “Are you ready to come to Bible college?”
For the next six years, Gianna joyfully served as a Sister of the Cross, ministering in leprosy colonies and slums. Because she intimately knew the pain of growing up without a mother’s love, God gave her a deep and genuine compassion for all who suffer. She practically demonstrated Christ's love by tenderly cleaning wounds that others would not touch and sitting with those whom society had rejected and forgotten. In these dark places, her gentle care was a tangible expression of God's love, bringing spiritual light and eternal hope where there was only despair.
Today, Gianna is receiving further training, not for her own sake, but so she can equip the next generation of young women to follow in her footsteps, multiplying her life and impact for God’s kingdom.
