A year after the tsunami ravaged the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu, the heaviest rains in 50 years flooded a large part of the state, killing many who were still living in temporary shelters.
Pastor Silas stands in front of his flooded church where hundreds gather for Sunday worship.
George, a believer from Pastor Silas's church, lost his house and all his belongings. Because they are made of mud, many houses were badly damaged.
All the believers in Pastor Silas's village lost their homes and household items. Worst of all they suffered a severe food shortage.
In another district—one of the worst-hit by the tsunami—40 believers lost everything in the floods. Because their church was underwater, they had to take shelter in a temple. But in another area, 84 people who lost homes and belongings are sheltered in the local Believers Church.
