Text from this PhotoShow:
Raji and Jasingh graduated from a GFA Bible college with a burden to share the Gospel.
This North Indian village—a slum—is where God has called them to minister.
The village's name means "Village of Snake Charmers."
The children have to work alongside their parents and are told by outsiders that they will never amount to anything.
Not only are the people of this slum poor. They are Dalits, "Untouchables."
But through Raji and Jasingh, God's love is touching the people of this slum.
"We want to tell them Jesus loves them," Jasingh said, "no matter who they are."
"We believe once they taste the love of Jesus, they will automatically become followers of Christ" said Raji.
Raji and Jasingh spend a lot of time with the children, whose parents say the children now sing Bible songs at home.
"I want to see the children growing up to know the Lord," shared Jasingh. "Through these children, we want to share the Gospel to the entire slum."
Raji and Jasingh are teaching 15 women to read so they can read the Bible. They also teach them writing and math.
Through Christ, hope is springing up in the slums, and 40 people now attend church services.
