Text from this PhotoShow:
After spending three years at a GFA Bible college, native missionary Simon moved to a tiny village in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh. Travel is difficult as there are no real roads to the village. But convinced that these people needed to know Jesus, he made his home among them and began to preach the Gospel.
Simon is part of the same tribe as these villagers. Although he speaks their dialect, the villagers had a hard time comprehending Jesus' love at first. But slowly, as Simon continued to share truth from God's Word, the villagers understood that Jesus could forgive their sin and give them salvation.
This village of no more than 25 homes now has 28 believers, and there are 65 other Christians in the surrounding area!
The congregation worships the Lord in a thatched roof hut—unprotected from wind and rain. But they have begun construction of a new church building. Being a very primitive area, they are building the church using mud, and it will match the homes and buildings that are normal to the villagers.
Please pray for Simon and his wife, Taniba, and their children. Pray that the Lord will anoint their ministry, and that it might bear much fruit. And please stand in prayer for the healing of several villagers who are struggling with serious physical problems.
