These students from a GFA Bible college in West Bengal are very happy to be wearing their new warm clothes, provided for them by caring GFA friends. The young man pictured on the right also studies at a GFA Bible college. He is grateful and excited to receive this gift of winter clothing. It will make it easier for him to go on outreach. For men, a typical Winter Clothing Packet includes a warm shirt and trousers. A sweater, two pairs of socks and a blanket go in both men's and women's packets. This young woman—also a GFA Bible college student—gladly receives an article of warm clothing, knowing the blessing it will be for her as she studies and serves the Lord in Jharkhand, North India. A typical Winter Clothing Packet for a woman includes a warm skirt and shawl. These young women know that these new clothes will help keep them warm as they travel, sharing the Gospel in this area of India. This missionary is encouraged by his warm coat. Winter clothing furthers the ministry of GFA Bible college students and missionaries by providing warmth and protection to face the elements. As GFA Bible college students go on outreach each weekend, they are seeing lives forever changed by the Gospel! And their ministry continues on campus as they allow the Holy Spirit to prepare their hearts with daily time in prayer and God's Word. Blankets even keep students extra warm in their dormitories during those frigid winter months. For GFA missionaries and missionaries-in-training serving in cold climates, the gift of winter clothing sends a visible message that someone cares for them and their ministry. And this often brings a smile to their face and makes waking up the next morning to brave the cold that much easier. date posted 09/23/08 |
