My GFA Story

Upon completing my bachelor's degree in music business, God led me to take a step of faith in joining GFA World's 6-month apprenticeship. Within my first month, I watched a recorded sermon titled "Christ's Call" where founder K.P. Yohannan presents the stark disparity between life here in America and poverty in Asia, sharing the heart of his ministry. Through his message, God spoke to me and grew my heart for international missions. During my time of serving and living in a community of behind-the-scenes missionaries, my faith in Jesus Christ grew and my relationship with Him was deepened. But I did not know what was next. After praying and reading through 1 Corinthians 3, God made it clear to me that the work being done at GFA is of eternal value; and I needed to take another step of faith, not knowing what lies further ahead.

What I do

I help the social media team with their video editing needs. Through the combination of footage (from the field or on campus), music, and other creative elements, I am able to tell real-life stories. As part of the digital department, I get to attend and weigh in on meetings pertaining to the ministry's online presence, marketing strategies, website design, and our yearly young adults retreat Set Apart. As a staff member, I frequently gather with my fellow coworkers to pray in my department, in the lobby, or at a weekly Tuesday night prayer meeting. I have also been given the opportunity to serve on the audio, video, and worship teams. By the time you read this, I should already have been trained and am ready serve on the barista team at the Coffeehouse on campus!
