Siro Kirit spent seven years fighting in an underground rebel group that rocked Assam, India. Unhappy with the direction his life was taking, he left the group and got married. But it wasn't until he heard the Good News that he found true peace for his soul.
Gospel for Asia missionary Hadi Rahman told Siro about Jesus and helped him find the peace he was longing for. Siro now serves as the principal of a Gospel for Asia Bridge of Hope center in Assam, India.
The Bridge of Hope center and the local church where Hadi serves as pastor share the same building. What happens with the children during the week is an important prelude to the Sunday worship service.
The Bridge of Hope center is a vital part of this community. It offers these poverty-stricken villagers the opportunity to educate their children—something they've never been able to do before.
The staff's willingness to give each child individual attention has improved the quality of the children's lives, both academically and spiritually.
Prayer is an essential part of the daily lessons at the center, as spiritual truths and academic lessons share equal time.
The children are growing to love God and love one another. Here they are seen singing one of the Gospel action songs they learned at the center.
The children are also given an ample amount of time for recreation and play. Everyone gets in on the fun and games.
Siro's ministry at the Bridge of Hope center does not stop with the children. He also helps entire families, like this one. Baruah Chowdhury was so pleasantly surprised at the changes in his children after they began attending the center that he set out to learn about Jesus, too. Today he and his family are followers of Christ.
Because of the Bridge of Hope center, the families in this Northeast Indian village have hope—and many families can look forward to eternity in heaven.
