The Employer's Love
At the construction site, Elias worked hard as he usually did, and something stirred James's heart toward the young mason. He took a special interest in Elias, and Elias wondered why James cared so much about him and what faith he followed.
Then one bright day, James had a gift for the young man. It was some sort of pamphlet. "Do not throw it, but read it carefully," said James.
Elias took and read the booklet. It talked about Jesus Christ and what He did for mankind.
James asked Elias the next day if he had read the pamphlet and asked if he had any questions. Elias replied that he had read it, and that it was all about Jesus. Then James prayed for him. Afterward, the day felt unusual for Elias. He could not focus on his work. All he could think about was James's prayer.
The Dream
Elias read the pamphlet again at home, and as he slept, he dreamt that a man was standing before him saying he had a plan for Elias.
The next morning, Elias ran to James to tell him of the dream. Believing the dream was about the Lord wanting Elias to be His own beloved child, Jame encouraged him to pray. So, from that day on, Elias joined James and his family for prayer.
As God stirred Elias's heart, he decided to put his trust in our High Priest.
Proverbs 16:9 says, "A man's heart plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps." Elias did not know that his life would be changed when he went to this construction site, but God did. He directed Elias's steps to meet James who would give him a pamphlet with the words that would change his life. He placed a great love for Elias in the heart of James. And now, Elias has this Christ-given love for his family. He desires to be a light to his parents and siblings so that they might also experience Christ's love.
