My GFA Story
I served in a lot of different ways in the church through my life. As I have gotten older, I thought my service would be less but after I saw the film ‘Veil of Tears' and then read Revolution in World Missions, my heart was so stirred that I couldn't just sit by and do nothing. I began to understand and learn about GFA and their passion to share the love of Christ with the people of Asia. As I was being drawn in my heart here, I had never really thought about ever moving out of my comfort zone. I sought the Lord with all my heart because I wanted to do the right thing. I felt this is where I should be and so thankful that I came. I love that this ministry is based on prayer and direction of the Holy Spirit. Even though, I'm just a small part of this ministry, I feel I'm making an eternal difference in many lives that would otherwise not even know the love of Jesus at all but now have hope.
What I do
I have the privilege of serving the Lord in Donor Relations, where we process all the donations that are received at the US office. We open each envelope and scan everything into the computer. I also help process all the checks, cash, literature orders, bill-pay gifts and letters that come in. I, along with several other behind-the-scenes missionaries, make each donation a priority, whether large or small, making sure it is accurately processed. I am thankful that we all work together and communicate well. What a joy to see the people of God giving from their hearts so the love of Jesus can go forth for those in Asia.
