The best South Asian homes are built using simple materials that will withstand the harsh natural elements. That's why many homes have roofs of tin sheets. The tin is lightweight and easy to install, yet durable enough to withstand the monsoon rains.

Approximately 2.4 million deaths could be prevented annually if people had appropriate hygiene practices, including reliable sanitation. Nearly 20 percent of the world's population is forced to go to the bathroom out in the open. For only $540, you will help reduce the risk of common diseases by providing a family with an outdoor toilet. The external structure will vary, however each unit includes a dual-tank system for optimized sanitation.

Tens of millions of people in Asia live in the squalor of slums—in one-room shanties, usually without electricity, running water or toilets. But through slum ministry, the Lord is giving people in slums the chance for a better life. GFA World-supported national workers serving in slums teach adult literacy classes and tutor children. They disseminate information about health and hygiene. They distribute income-generating gifts, along with practical gifts, like water filters, toilets and clothing. They also share with slum dwellers about the greatest gift anyone could gain: the love and mercy of Jesus Christ.

GFA World’s Medical Ministry teams of trained nurses and doctors visit dozens of villages, and Bridge of Hope Centers, ministering to thousands of people each year, all in the name of the Great Physician—Jesus Christ.

The main goal of our leprosy ministry is to share the love of Jesus and the hope of the Gospel with the victims of this disfiguring disease. At the same time, we seek to help them with the many needs and challenges they face in their personal lives, their families and their colonies.

Countless people have taken ahold of the hope found in Christ after seeing Man of Mercy, a movie depicting the life of Christ. Teams doing film ministry use an LCD projector kit to show such movies. Women's Literacy Classes Teach Scripture and Skills
Women across South Asia gather each week for literacy classes where they learn reading, writing and math skills. When a woman completes the course, she's able to read warning labels to protect her children and understand contracts to avoid bonded labor. She won't get cheated at the marketplace because she will finally know how to add. And she can read the Bible for herself and teach it to her children.

Many GFA supported missionaries spend many arduous hours walking from one village to another. With a bicycle a national missionary can visit three to four times as many villages in a day. A heavy-duty Indian-made bicycle can be a wonderful blessing for $110.

Every worker needs tools to effectively accomplish their task, and GFA-supported workers are no exception. You can provide national workers with tools—like Bibles, literature, winter clothing or bicycles—that will help their ministries and show people God’s love.

Help a national missionary share the story of our Savior with Gospel literature to pass out in his village. Literature is treasured in Asia, so a packet of Gospel literature is a gift that you can be sure will be passed on and read by others.

Motorcycles can carry two national missionaries at a time! A motorcycle is an extremely useful and time-saving tool, especially in hilly areas where pedaling a bicycle is difficult. The cost of a motorcycle is $1,200.

Cows, and the milk they produce, help families grow healthier and more financially secure. A cow’s milk can be consumed, adding nutrients to the family’s diet, or sold, adding to the family’s income. The cow’s manure serves as a fertilizer for farmers, resulting in a better harvest. As cows multiply, so does the financial benefit and the family’s hope.

Water buffalo are powerful animals often used to plow fields. They produce milk for drinking or selling, and their dung can be used as fuel for cooking. Your gift towards a water buffalo could greatly improve a family’s financial situation!

These portly critters bring powerful financial breakthroughs to needy families. Piglets fetch a good price at market, which enables families to buy whatever they need, and adult pigs provide ample meat for selling or eating.

Your gift toward goats can improve a family’s financial situation. In the case of one father, one pair of goats multiplied and enabled him to start a goat farm, resulting in more than 75 goats to milk or sell. He built a house for his family and sent his children to school, offering his children a better future .

Your gift towards chickens can help supplement a family’s income and often helps a family get on its feet financially. Hungry families can eat or sell the nutritious eggs, or they can hatch chicks to increase their flock and later have more eggs and chicks to sell.
