How do I raise money for Gospel for Asia with GoodShop?

How does it work?

Simply go to www.goodsearch.com and choose the GoodShop link or go to www.goodshop.com. In the "Who do you support" box, type in "GFA World" and click the "Verify" button.

Visit GoodShop's partner merchants (clicking on a merchant's link will open a new browser window and redirect you to their site), and start shopping! A percentage of your purchase will go to GFA.

Will GFA automatically be chosen each time I shop through GoodShop?

If your computer allows cookies, your selection of GFA as the charity you wish to support will be saved for each time that you shop through GoodShop. If your browser history is ever deleted, just return to the site and re-enter GFA World as your chosen charity so you can keep generating donations to GFA.

Where does the money come from?

GoodShop receives a commission for every purchase you make, and they've developed a way to donate these shopping-generated proceeds to GFA!

How much can I generate for GFA by shopping through GoodShop?

Each retailer designates a different percentage for their donation, but it averages about 3 percent of the total sale and can go up to 30 percent. The percentage donated is indicated below the merchant's logo. The more people shop through GoodShop, the more money will be directed toward GFA. There is no cap on how much GoodShop will direct to GFA!

Am I paying more to shop through GoodShop? Is this any different than buying directly from the retailer?

Absolutely not! The experience of shopping through GoodShop is exactly the same as going to the retailer directly—you receive the same prices and level of service. The retailers are responsible for collecting payment, shipping and returns.

Is shopping through GoodShop secure?

Absolutely! GoodShop does not collect any credit card or personal information such as your name or address. The entire transaction is done directly through the merchants, just as if you had gone to their stores directly.

Why is there a delay between when I make a purchase and when it shows up on the Amount Raised page?

GoodShop posts the data that they receive from their retailers weekly on GFA's "Amount Raised" page. Please note, however, that retailers may take up to eight weeks from the time of your purchase to report their sales back to GoodShop. Also, you may notice a change in the totals due to returned merchandise or cancelled orders.

What if my donation still doesn't appear after eight weeks?

If you don't see your donation on the "Amount Raised" page after eight weeks, you can contact GoodShop. They will do their best to resolve the issue.

Do all purchases qualify for a donation?

While the majority of purchases will generate a donation for GFA, each retailer has its own rules, and some purchases may not qualify. For example, many merchants do not contribute donations for gift cards or gift certificates. You can read about restrictions by following the "Percentage Generated" link under each retailer's logo on the GoodShop homepage.
